ACADEMICS

Reading: We are setting goals and planning steps for how we are going to amp up our reading. Our goals may be becoming more fluent in our reading, understanding literary language, or findings ways to keep track of longer books.

Phonics: We continue reviewing spelling patterns for words with the Long I sound. We are also working on adding endings (-ing, –es, –ed, and –er) to words with Long A, E, and I sounds.

Spelling: No new sorts this week. Your child will get a new sort upon return from Easter Break.

Math: We are solving multiplication problems with diagrams and arrays. We are also learning the concept of division by creating equal groups. We will be taking the Unit 6 Math Assessment on Wednesday, April 27. Please continue working on addition and subtraction math facts with your child.

Writing: We are learning how to write opinion letters about our favorite books by retelling important parts of the books.

Religion: We will be learning about the Holy Week and Easter.

Social Studies: We learn there are consequences when laws are broken.

Science: None this week.
