Dear Kindergarten Families,

We had a great time on Friday with your students’ Grandparents! It was nice to meet all grandparents; we had an amazing turnout.

As we move into this new week – don’t forget Picture Day on Wednesday. Usually kinders are among the first class to get their picture taken…remember wear their uniforms, ready to show their best smile.

This week we have a full week of school with a 2:45 dismissal on Friday.

Library books need to be returned by Wednesday in order to check out another.

Academics:

Religion this week finds us reading in the Bible and text about Noah. We are learning our SLEs (School-wide Learning Expectations) Noah’s reaction to God will continue reinforce our daily behavior expectations. A.1: Learn about the church and share with others; B. 1 Listen; and B.2: Follow directions.

ELA – continuing on with identifying, printing, knowing alphabet sounds – we are working on letters Mm, Nn, and Oo. Reading picture books using strategies compare and contrast, sight word work, and action words.

EM – an introduction to volume with water, rice and seeds, graphing, sound and motion patterns and patterns with color. This covers section 1 activities 7-10.

Science – continue to observe and care for the worms. A look at different types of seeds. Another fun wormy item: we have several monarch caterpillars growing in our milkweed garden.

Social studies – Rules and good citizenship.

Enjoy your week!
