Hello 3rd Grade Families,
This Wednesday will be a another free dress day, this time in honor of Veteran’s Day & our school flag retirement ceremony. Students planning to participate should bring $1 and are encouraged to wear red, white and blue. As with all free dress days, students should arrive in comfortable, school appropriate play clothes.

Reading: This week we will spend some time reviewing a couple of previously taught skills: “Do the pictures match the words?” and “Make a Picture or Mental Image.” The attached Parent Pipelines (click here and here) will show you ways to incorporate these skills into your regular reading routine.
Our small groups are scheduled to begin enjoying our new books this week.

Word Work: Our next spelling test is schedule for next Tuesday 11/ 10. After that we will return to our regular Monday-Friday routine.
Vocabulary: We will finish Unit 4 this week. The quiz will be this Friday.
Grammar: We will continue with Unit 2, again turning our attention to Lessons 12 and 13: Regular and Irregular Plural Nouns.
Science: Let there be (one more week of) Light!
Social Studies: The class will continue to study California’s landforms and geography.
Religion: We will finish Chapter 3, We are God’s Holy People, with a short quiz on Thursday. Click here for the Study Guide.
