Hello Third Grade Families,
Happy Thanksgiving! Since this week will be short and sweet (only 2 ½ days!) with many students going out of town or family arriving in town, we will not have reading logs, spelling, vocabulary or IXL math homework. Instead, enjoy your time thanking the ones you love.
The last time we met as Families the students adorned our school turkey with feathers listing what they are thankful for this year. This turkey will be featured at our special Thanksgiving mass at 8:30am Wednesday morning. Feel free to join us for this celebration if your schedule permits.
Please note that this Tuesday school family envelopes will not be sent home. We will not have student work packets on this day either.
Don’t forget that Wednesday there will be noon dismissal.
This week we’ll be studying the following:
Math: The class will continue Unit 4 (Multiplication & Division) covering lesson 4.2 & 4.3. As always, I encourage you to follow along with us by completing the Home Links at www.everydaymathonline.com. Your child’s username and password can be found in his/her planner.
Reading: The class will continue reading and discussing books from our leveled library in small groups. Our next books will be Tea With Milk and Emma’s Rug, both by Allan Say.
English: The class will finish Unit 2 with Lesson 14. Our next grammar unit test will take place December 5th. Extra grammar review and practice exercises are available at the Grammar Workshop website. Directions can be found in your child’s planner.
Science: The class will learn more about energy in Chapter 8 Lesson 2.
Social Studies: We will learn more about California’s “Tribal Traditions.”
Go to www.estudiesweekly.com for access to all of our social studies reading content.
Religion: We will finish Chapter 19 with “acting like a member of the Communion of Saints.”
Happy Thanksgiving!
