Hello Second Grade Families,

We are in the home stretch with even more special events on the way. Stay tuned and keep your eye on the school calendar.

Math: We will continue Unit 9: Measurement with work on finding the perimeter of polygons. After that, we’ll start planning summer road trips with a lesson on measuring longer distances (kilometers, miles) on a map.

For IXL homework this week, please complete the following skills:

S.4 Customary Units of Length

S.10 Metric Units of Length

Reading: This week we will finish all comprehension assessments and then complete one-on-one fluency assessments for each student. Any students who have not completed their sight words through book 6 will also be evaluated one last time for an end-of-year placement. In addition to this, the class will make our last trip to the school library for the year before our school librarian begins the process of taking inventory. Please make sure to find any overdue books that are still out there!

Word Work: New sorts went home on Monday. Students can expect a spelling test on Friday.

Science: We will finish the last set of lessons for our unit on works of water with a special lab on erosion.

Religion: Friday is our school’s May Crowning. Feel free to join us for mass, as the crowning will take place immediately after!

Have a great week!

Ms. Espinosa
