Hello Third Grade Families,
Happy Tuesday! Tomorrow the class will be going on our final field trip to the Camarillo Public Library. Students should wear their regular school uniforms and a pair of comfortable walking shoes for our behind-the-scenes tour. All should bring a disposable sack lunch as well, with names clearly marked on the bag. We plan to leave at about 9:30, so the students will have snack here at school. The class will be back on campus just after lunch at 12:30.
Thursday is our last day of PE for the school year.
Friday is Move-Up Day!!! Time to get a sneak peak of your NEW classroom & teacher.
Math: This week we complete Chapter 10 (Measurement and Data) with a lesson on calculating averages in a data set, followed by frequency tables & a review of line plots. There will be a chapter test on Thursday.
Reading: Students will continue to review key skills taught throughout the school year in our small reading groups.
Grammar: We will review the correct use of quotations marks. The class will also spend time reviewing capitalization of titles.
Word Work: Our next spelling test is scheduled for Thursday. Take some time this week to study your sort and pattern.
Writer’s Workshop: We will revisit the personal narrative, our writing focus from Trimester 1.
Science: We will take some time to review previously taught concepts and vocabulary in preparation for a science spectacular next week hosted by our one and only class chemist and science coach, Dr. Rzasa!
Religion: We will continue with the Family Life unit, focusing our attention on making choices with the good of the larger community in mind.
Finally, there will be no homework this week!!!
Best,
Ms. Espinosa
