Dear Parents,                                January 22, 2012

My goodness! We have an exciting week! Monday is Chinese New Year, Tuesday is the 100th day of school, and Friday is Parents Day.  I hope that you can spend Friday morning with us.  We will start off with mass at 8:30 where you are welcome to sit with us.  After mass we will go to recess and then enjoy the classroom visits.

As we finished Theme 5 last week, we will be focusing on review this week. In addition there will not be any new spelling words. However, we have plenty to keep us busy. The children have been busy working on writing a personal narrative.  We are planning to share on Parents Day and we just can’t wait for you to hear them!

In math, we are continuing work on patterns and will be introduced to ordinal numbers (first, second, third, fourth, etc.). In religion, we are focusing on how God calls us to be His apostles. In social studies we will continue work on our unit “My Country, My Heroes” by studying why we have laws and in science, continued work on environments and food chains.

Reminders for the week:

  • Please remind your child to bring their library book to school on Tuesday so that they may check out a new one.
  • Progress Reports go home on Tuesday.
  • Water bottle sales continue on Tuesday and Thursday.  Thank you for your support!
  • Friday is Parents Day and a noon dismissal!

Have a wonderful week. If you have any questions or concerns please let me know!
