The week ahead in 4thgrade

Math: We continue our work in Unit 4: decimal concepts and operations. We should be ready for a unit test next week.

Reading: We continue learning how to handle the challenges of non-fiction reading, and we continue to read chapter books for our Reading Response journals.  Starting this week and for the month of December, students will be reading and taking notes from books about various weather topics.  If you have any questions, please contact me. Remember nightly homework is to read 20-30 minutes!

Writing: We continue our unit on opinion writing. Essay topics should be finalized by this week.

Spelling: We will have the test on Unit 15 on Friday.  Remember that these words are available for practice on SpellingCity.com.

Vocabulary: We begin work on Unit 7; the test will be next week.

Social Studies: We will have a quiz on chapter 2, lesson 2 on Thursday.

Science: We continue chapter 3, this week focusing on microorganisms.  We will be ready for the chapter test next week.

Religion: We are reading chapter 12: We Keep Holy the Lord’s Day; there will be a quiz on Friday.

Homework:

Monday: Reading response journal and Math worksheet page 126

Tuesday: Reading response journal and ixL math skill T 11.

Wednesday: Reading response journal and Math worksheet page 128.

Thursday: Reading response journal and ixL math skill T 15.

School Notices

  • Our annual Teddy Bear and Friends Day is right around the corner (December 5th); keep that in mind if you are out shopping.
  • This Friday is a full day of school.
