Third grade families,

Happy Thanksgiving to all! During this time, and always, I am so thankful for this wonderful class of kiddos and their families! I look forward to spending my days with them and watching them grow and learn everyday! Thank you.

Important dates:

  • Wednesday, 11/20 is a half-day.
  • No school Thursday or Friday!
  • second trimester begins next Monday.
  • Report cards will be sent out on December 4th, with conferences in January.
  • Teddy Bear day is on December 5th. Starting next Monday, we will begin collecting all cute and cuddly stuffed animals to donate to our Adopt-A-Family program!

Homework:

There will be no homework this week.  Instead, enjoy quality time with family, friends, and loved ones.

Sneak peek to our week:

This week, we will spend a lot of time catching up, wrapping up lessons/units, and assessing to ensure a new and fresh start 2nd trimester!

Math: This week in math, we continue with practicing perimeter. Next week, we will dive into some more perimeter and area: a new concept to many.

Reading: We continue working hard and steady with our non-fiction texts.  We continue to rev up our minds, and organize our information as we read.  In non-fiction books, we read to LEARN!

Writing: This week, we wrapped up our unit 1: narrative stories.  Next Monday, we will embark on our second unit of writing!

Spelling: Spelling tests from last weeks words will be on Wednesday.  Due to the short week, we spent a little bit of extra time on our sorts.

Grammar: This week in grammar we worked on capitalization with pronouns.

Religion: All about Thanksgiving and reflecting on all things we are thankful for!

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
