Hello 4th Grade Families,

We are truly in the “meat” of our year. February is soon coming to an end, and maybe our rainy weather as well! Here’s a look at our week:

Important Dates:

  • Wednesday, March 1: Stations of the Cross – 2pm
  • Friday, March 3: 12pm Dismissal

Homework:

  • IXL Math: (Remember, the goal is NOT 100 — please encourage students to attempt the skills and to do their best)
    • Catch up on any missing IXLs (check for starred skills)
      • If your student is all caught up on IXLs, they have a week free of IXLs for homework!
  • 20-30 minutes of reading, 5 times a week – 5 Reading Responses (Tuesday-Tuesday)
    • This week for their journal responses, students can read nonfiction or fiction books. Please have them use the menus as their guide. A lot of the responses work for either genre but some are specific.

Our Week:

  • Math: Angles and Division!
  • Reading: Island of the Blue Dolphins
  • Writing: Opinion Essays
  • Social Studies: Mission Research Projects (please send in display boards as you purchase them – due in class by Monday, 3/6)
  • Science: Sound!
  • Religion: Saints as Heroes

Let’s have a great week,

Ms. Schmaeling
