Sneak Peek of our Academic Week

math: This week we continue on with our next unit in math and continuing on with multiplication! We will re-visit our multiplication and division strategies; skip counting, repeated addition, equal groups, and arrays. Then, we will begin working on number models with parentheses.

reader’s workshop: We continue to read so much about our research animals! Our research clubs are learning so much about their two animals, working hard at taking notes as they read and identifying comparisons and differences among their two animals.

writer’s workshop: In our research writing, we also begin to draft about our second animal! Using the same writing strategies from the first animal, we begin to write fast and furiously!

word work: This is our last week of word work! Spelling words can be found in your child’s planner and on Kids A-Z. There is no spelling test this week.

religion: This week we will read through Chapter 24, discussing The Eucharist. We will be attending our student mass on Wednesday morning.

science: This week we will finish up our science activity from last week, learning about how we can observe clouds to make predictions about the weather.

social studies: We give our attention to Memorial Day as we respect and honor those who have served our country.

Blessings,
Miss Poindexter
