It was wonderful to have so many of you join us on Parents’ Day! This Wednesday we celebrate Student Appreciation Day; all students have free dress (no cost), will receive a hamburger lunch from Mrs. Benner, and no homework will need to be completed that evening.
It is just over one month until the School Fair (March 2nd). I hope everyone has selected a mission project by now (either a model, a video tour or a scrapbook). For further details, please refer to the handouts emailed to you previously. Please send in your boxes of “barely burned” large kitchen matches, labeled with your child’s name, as soon as they are ready.
What we are working on this week
Religion: We have finished our study of the first three commandments. Our Unit Three test, covering chapters 10-13 will be early next week. A study sheet will be provided, and we will be reviewing this week.
Math: We continue with Unit 5, which focuses upon multiplication. This week students need to complete ixL Math skills B 7 and D 14.
Spelling: We started working on Unit 19 last week; the book pages and sentences need to be done by Friday, and we will have the test on Friday.
Grammar: We continue Unit 3, which focuses upon types of verbs.
Vocabulary: We continue our study of Unit 10 words; test will be next week.
Reading: The reading log will be due on Monday (click here for a copy) Reading log summary and Fluency Homework #19 will be due on Monday as well. Social Studies: We continue to take notes for our mission reports. On Friday we started writing outlines, getting our notes organized so we can start writing the rough draft of the report. We continue this work in class.
Science: We continue our study of Chapter 5, learning about the properties of minerals.
